John Joseph Butler, 73, of Knightstown passed away February 10, 2017. John was born in Painsesville, Ohio on February 20, 1943.

At 19, John joined the Marine Corps. He became a Launch and Recovery Technician and served from February, 1962 until February, 1968. He later became the Chef of Security for Warren Township Schools. He Married Jean Michelle Denison on December 8, 1962.

John was preceded in death by his father John R. Butler.

He is survived by his wife Jean; mother Beatrice Butler Hancock; children John R. (Angie), Joel L. (Melissa), and Jeffery A. (Steve); grandchildren Kaylie Jean, Nicholas Lawton, and Andrew Joseph; great-grandson Ethan Riley; brother Richard (Shirley); and sister Judy (Penny) Davenport.

John will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
